tree preservation order (penalty)

The penalty for a prohibited action to a tree protected by a tree preservation order consists of a fine of up to £20,000 on conviction in the Magistrates court or an unlimited fine in the Crown court. Under Section 210(4) of the Act, the penalty is a fine up to £2,500 in the Magistrates court.
